PACT Act meetings being held in Kansas by the Wichita VAMC.
Outreach has the following events scheduled to take place. Most of these are related to our PACT Act outreach efforts and we should make every effort to offer all necessary services at these events: Eligibility & Enrollment (E&E), Disability Claims, Toxic Exposure Screenings (TES), and Education.
April 15, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: KCVA’s Resource Fair, Towne West Mall, Wichita
Wichita VAMC and KCVA are co-sponsoring this event. E&E and Claims are a must. We have space reserved to conduct TES in private areas. Education will not be possible, though we can answer questions. This event will be heavily promoted, and we anticipate strong turnout.
April 29, Time TBD: Veterans Connection, VFW Post, Hays
The local VFW post is sponsoring this event and has invited Wichita VAMC to have a strong presence. E&E and Claims are a must. Status of TES and Education TBD.
May 20, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Resource and Enrollment Fair, Masonic Temple, Salina
This is a large facility, and all services will be offered. Wichita VAMC held this last year with co-sponsor Vietnam Veterans of America. Turnout was moderate. Wichita VAMC has more time to advertise this year and anticipate a strong showing.
July 8, Time TBD: PACT Act One Stop Shop, Venue TBD, Hutchinson
Stand-alone event for Wichita VAMC. Wichita VAMC will secure a large facility in order to offer all services.
August 26, Time TBD: Veterans Roundup, Memorial Hall, Independence
The local VFW post has held this for multiple years and turnout has always been strong. It is a 3-day event; Wichita VAMC will attend for only 1. Large facility, all services will be offered.
September, Details TBD: PACT Act One Stop Shop, Pittsburg
Stand-alone event by Wichita VAMC. Wichita VAMC will secure a large facility in order to offer all services. Home to Pittsburg State University, Wichita VAMC should have a lot of contact with young Veterans.
